VHOST Info |
In early 2003 ETG launched a free service to clans and organizations established on ETG. This service provides free, custom virtual hostmasks (VHosts) associated to the clan or organization`s channel. What this VHost does is change your hostname that people see to look like this: YourClan.on.EnterTheGame.Com or YourOrg.on.EnterTheGame.Com where YourClan/YourOrg is replaced by the name of your clan or organization.
Having a VHost does two things for you: First, it acts as a name tag or advertisement for your clan or org. Any time someone sees your host they see what clan or organization you represent. Second, VHosts hide your real host/IP to help protect you from potential security problems.
